“The Experiment”

There are a number of contests associated with SIEGE. These include:

The Experiment” Do you have what it takes to design games. Want to prove it? Want to show something completely innovative? Now is your chance. Put together a team and show us what you are made of!

This year’s theme is “The Experiment.” An experiment in a lab has gone awry. Follow this theme and show us something new, something innovative, something we have not seen before. This contest is about quality, not quantity, and our judges look for how you show off your imagination. Don’t try for something epic; just demo the working concept. Programmers, perhaps you have some innovative game play up your sleeves? Designers, ready to move games in a new direction? Artists, got a new art style to show off? Musicians, get with a team and show us a new way of looking at music.

Who is Eligible: Any team, of any size, attending this year’s convention.

Equipment: You must provide your own equipment / systems for the demo. You may use any engine and any existing assets. You must have a sheet available that details what you created and what you re-used from existing assets / code / effects.

Judging: Set up will be Sunday at 3 pm in the Pavillion; judging and prizes take place at 4 pm at the Town Hall meeting. Entries must be available and running on your computer, as well as provided on CD. The document detailing what you created must also be on the CD. Entries will be judged on ingenuity in concept, implementation, art, and audio. Only working entries will be accepted. Winners will be announced on Sunday
