HELLO SIEGE VOLUNTEERS!
It's that time of year again. We're ramping up and getting ready to fill volunteer slots for the third Southern Interactive Entertainment and Games Expo (SIEGE 2009) coming up in October. The application forms aren't ready yet, so you won't be able to fill those out just yet.
.... But wait! There IS something you can already do! We are having an introductory meeting on April 26th, 4pm at Westwood College's Northlake campus, 2309 Parklake Dr, Atlanta, GA 30345. Go to the main entrance; we meet in room 105. Whether you are a veteran volunteer from last year or a fresh face eager to get into SIEGE, this meeting will give you the best shot at being selected as a volunteer for SIEGE.
WHY VOLUNTEER?
Being a volunteer at SIEGE gives you several advantages. First and foremost is networking. Your fellow volunteers are either already in the game industry or will soon be, and as we all know this industry is all about who you know (and who knows you). Make friends! Have fun! And while you're doing it, make use of the second benefit of being a volunteer - a free pass to SIEGE! Attend sessions you are interested in and meet the speakers yourself.
As an added benefit this year, time you put into volunteering during the months before the conference will count as part of your required quota volunteer hours, so you'll have fewer hours to work during the actual conference but still get a free pass! These are premium volunteer opportunities, so make sure you attend the meeting on April 26th at Westwood College's Northlake Campus.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all there! George Skleres SIEGE Volunteer Coordinator
