This Year's SIEGE is Dedicated to the Memory of Steve Jobs

Few people can be considered to have made as dramatic a mark on the modern world and especially the world of game development that Steve Jobs made. Many game developers got their first taste of programming on Apples, and I programmed my very first game on an Apple 2. Whether you're a PC, a Mac or a Linux, we all owe him a great deal.

Yom Kippur

For those persons celebrating Yom Kippur (Oct. 7-8), we wish you a blessed holiday.  We regret the date conflict and will do our best to create a streaming portal for SIEGE 2011 and share those audio/video recordings in the days following the event.

SIEGE Program Book

We're very pleased to present this digital copy of the event program.  After many months of planning and preparation (since February), the posting of our event program signifies a major shift in operation from planning to execution.   We're all excited about this year's event and hope you'll enjoy the show.

Many, many thanks to all our volunteers for their hard work.  Whenever you see a "STAFF" shirt at the show, give it a good pat on the back.

This year's information is provided here for reference:

2010 FEEDBACK SPOTLIGHT

"I was truly honoured to have been invited along. I must confess that I was somewhat skeptical that a `gaming' audience would be interested in what I had to say about corporate learning but boy was I wrong. There were some great Q's in my session and many people grabbed me after the event (and before) to pick my brains.  Your hospitality was obvious and the positivity of the event and the intellect of the audience was really quite profound."

Tripwire Interactive Orchestrates a Platinum Showing at SIEGE

Atlanta, GaSept. 15, 2011 — The Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) today announced Tripwire Interactive as a platinum sponsor for the fifth annual Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE). Scheduled for Oct. 7 - 9, 2011, at the Marriott Atlanta NW, SIEGE brings together leading game companies, universities and organizations.

“We’ve been with SIEGE since the start and it is good to see how the show grows each year, reflecting the growth in the industry in Georgia and the South,” said Alan Wilson, vice president of Tripwire Interactive. “The show is good fun – we get in a good mix of business, learning and partying!” Tripwire is also a leading sponsor of the Game Investment Conference @ SIEGE Oct. 6, 2011.

Based in Roswell, Georgia, Tripwire Interactive is an entertainment software developer and publisher founded in 2005 by the award-winning mod team and winners of the 2004 edition of the "$1,000,000 Make Something Unreal" competition. Released in early 2006, Tripwire Interactive's debut retail title Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 achieved both critical and commercial success garnering several awards including "Multiplayer Game of the Year" and "FPS of the Year" for 2006. Killing Floor, Tripwire's second title, jumped straight to the top of the Steam best-seller list and instantly became one of the top-ten most played FPS games in the world. With some of the most-played PC multiplayer games on the market and approaching 2 million units sold on PC, Tripwire Interactive have proven that with hard work, determination, and great distribution partners, independent game developers can still make a big splash in the games industry. And if that wasn’t enough, Tripwire has now published Zeno Clash, The Ball, and Dwarfs, bringing more independent developers’ products to the world. For more information visit Tripwire Interactive's website at www.tripwireinteractive.com.

“Tripwire is one of SIEGE’s strongest partners,” said Andrew Greenberg, director of SIEGE. “Its employees bring a high level of professionalism and knowledge to everything with which they become involved, be it sessions on funding independent game studios, designing great games or building a devoted fan community. The fact that they just released one of the best-selling computer games of the year, Red Orchestra 2, really helps build excitement.”

As the Southeast's leading gaming and interactive conference, SIEGE brings together students and professionals from across the region to celebrate the world of gaming. SIEGE's speakers include leading figures from a wide spectrum of the industry, including artists, programmers, designers, writers, teachers and business executives. Special events include game design tournaments, game playing tournaments, parties, networking events, and a student fair for high school students and others looking for colleges.  For more information, please contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
